While You were busy …

A construction supervisor stood on the 16th floor, trying to call out to a worker busy on the ground floor below. He raised his voice again and again, but the distance swallowed his words. The worker remained deeply focused on his task, completely unaware of the supervisor’s presence.

The supervisor paused, thinking of a way to get his attention.

He took out a ₹10 note and dropped it from above.

The note fluttered down and landed near the worker.

The worker noticed it, picked it up, slipped it into his pocket… and went right back to work. He didn’t look up. He didn’t wonder where it came from.

The supervisor tried again. This time, he dropped a ₹500 note.

It landed right in front of the worker.

Once again, the worker calmly picked it up, put it in his pocket, and continued working — still without lifting his head, still without questioning the source.

The supervisor felt frustrated.

Finally, he picked up a small stone and dropped it down.

The stone struck the worker.

This time, the worker reacted instantly. He stopped. He looked up in pain and anger, searching for the one who had thrown it.

And there, far above, he saw the supervisor.

Life works in the same way.

When God tries to reach out to us, to connect with us, He begins gently. But we are so consumed by worldly distractions — our work, our desires, our endless pursuits — that we fail to notice His presence.

So He sends us small blessings. Unexpected gifts. Moments of grace.

We happily receive them. We enjoy them. We celebrate our “luck.”

But rarely do we look up. Rarely do we pause to ask, “Who sent this into my life?”

Rarely do we whisper a simple “Thank you.”

Then He sends bigger blessings, hoping that this time, we might notice.

Yet again, we accept them, claim them as our own fortune, and move on.

Finally, as a last attempt to get our attention, He sends a stone.

We call it a problem.

We call it pain.

We call it suffering.

But in that moment of hurt, we stop.

We look up.

We search for answers.

And for the first time in a long while… we begin to communicate with Him.

Through prayer.

Through surrender.

Through gratitude.

Sometimes, it is not the blessings that bring us closer to God —

but the stones He throws to remind us to look up.
